It is wide-spread in southwestern
Asia. It occupys steppes and clear
forests. It lives alone, during
day it lies in ground cavities,
which it unearths itself or in
natural cavities. During mating
it lives in pairs. After 60-70
days of graviditi female gives
2-4 cubs, which can sea at once
and have short tight pricks. It
eats plants: various rootlets,
hays, leaves and herbs.
